Binary ConScience is my MFA thesis body of work between 2014-2015. The examination of being Black while balancing other identifications, fears, and successes. It asks the questions; What is it to be Black with a multifaceted religious past whose practitioners have enslaved you ancestors and taught you who God is? What is it to be Black while holding the highest degree you can receive in your field of study? What is it to be Black and challenge all of these things? This marks a time of social and political growth where I began forming a languagebetween my thoughts and visualizations.
